Why are they butchering the trees

by JWMcGregor on January 18, 2010

I guess it is one rule for the streets that are travelled on by visitors and the ones that only the rate payers see.

Why did the trees along Menangle road from St John’s to the hospital look  as if they were manicured.  Murrundah Ave , Peter Ave, Old Hume Highway  and lots of other street around Camden that are not in plain sight had trees that were literally butchered!  in the space of  a couple of minutes a intergral energy contractor with a chainsaw can take a half ecent tree and make a horrible ugly thing out of it.

If the workers would spend one  minute just to look and apply some common sense the result would be much better.

I am not against the trees being pruned. I watched as electricity wires had arcs of sparks flying everywhere when they made contact with an overgrown tree in a storm last Spring. An experience I found a little scary.

And where is the council? surely they have noticed this butchery. I complained last year when the same thing happened  and received no response. I doubt I will get a response this year.  No one really cares except the person who has a house in front of one of these monstrosities.

Anyone else have a tree horror story? post your opinion.

August 13, 2009

The power plant proposed for Leafs Gully has this week been approved. The announcement by Planning Minister  Kristina Keneally did not really come as a shock. The NSW Governement has not really shown itself as a government that actually listens to the constituents of  this area.   It would not have really mattered if every [...]

Location Location Location! Will Greed Ruin Camden

August 9, 2009

What is achieved by the continual development of the Camden Area?
Some may argue that we need to flood the area with millions more people to help sustain the economy. No matter what the council says, I can’t be convinced they are not absolutely delighted  to develop this area for the sake of greed.  Some of [...]
